KODA® Extreme-Service O-Rings Technical Overview
When the required O-ring is a non-standard size and cannot match AS568 standard specifications, conventional metric sizes, or sizes outside the general range, custom-molded O-rings are the preferred solution. Through compression molding and continuous molding processes, O-rings of various non-standard sizes can be precisely produced to meet the sealing requirements of special operating conditions.
In addition, we supply O-rings made from over 100 different materials and compounds, comprehensively covering various operating conditions and environmental requirements. We also offer custom kits, O-ring color coding, special packaging solutions, and a full range of OEM replacement seals and accessories. For large-size sealing needs, we can also provide interlocking and vulcanized O-rings in different thicknesses and sizes.
Comparison of Custom O-ring Technologies
The sealing performance of continuous molding and compression molding processes is essentially equivalent, and both are suitable for static and dynamic sealing applications. For the production of small batches of large-diameter O-rings, continuous molding is the preferred option, as it eliminates the need for mold costs and effectively controls production costs. While compression molding requires specialized molds, it offers greater efficiency advantages for large-scale production of O-rings. Vulcanized O-rings can be produced rapidly within hours without relying on molds, making this type of product more suitable for static sealing applications.
