Oil seal and O-ring manufacturer

O-rings are typically manufactured from NBR or Viton materials. However, other materials such as silicone and PTFE (Teflon) are also available for specialized applications.

The function of an oil seal is simple: to prevent lubricating oil leakage and to block impurities such as dust and mud from entering the bearing or gearbox.

To specify an oil seal size,  only three key dimensions are required:
Inner Diameter (d) × Outer Diameter (D) × Width (H)

Measurement Guide

1. Inner Diameter (d)

   Diameter of the oil seal bore, matching the shaft diameter.

2. Outer Diameter (D)

   Diameter of the outer edge, matching the housing bore diameter.

3. Width (H)

   Overall thickness/height of the oil seal.

Practical Selection

• If the old seal is available, measure d×D×H directly.

• If only the shaft is accessible, measure the shaft diameter = seal inner diameter.

• If only the housing is accessible, measure the housing bore = seal outer diameter.

• Use the original width for the best fit.

Standard Notation

Example: 30×50×10
(Inner Diameter 30 × Outer Diameter 50 × Width 10)

Oil seals come in a wide range of types and are widely used in industrial, agricultural, and automotive applications. Their design is determined by the specific operating conditions and installation location.

Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life of O‑rings is generally 15 years for NBR and approximately 20 years for FKM (Viton).

O‑rings mainly fail due to improper size selection, excessive compression, material incompatibility with fluid or temperature, wear, aging, and installation damage.

O-rings come in various colors, with black, brown, green, blue, red, and white being the most common, and different colors are usually used to distinguish materials.
